Atlanta- Last week was the first time that Cedric the Entertainer and the 1st and Goal comedy tour took the stage at its first premiere. “The 1st & Goal Comedy Bowl is a series of comedy events launching in Atlanta on The Big Game Weekend. Matthew Gavin Enterprises, in a partnership with The Launchpad Group and the King of Comedy himself, Cedric the Entertainer, has a long-term vision for the brand itself. The 1st and Goal Comedy Bowl team plans to bring comedy to the forefront of consumer entertainment at tentpole times of the year, wrapped around key football events such as The Big Game, the pro football bowl game prior to The Big Game, Hall of Fame Weekend and the College National Championship game to name a few.”
Cedric brought out familiar comedians such as DC Young Fly, Deon Cole (Black-ish), Lil Duval and Michael Blackson (Got My Hu$tle Up). All of these different comedians had the people in attendance in tears or had their stomachs hurting from laughing too hard. There were many celebrities, models, and media that were in entertained throughout the night with all of the comedians’ performances. After all the stand-ups were finished, there was an after party where people mingled, took pictures with celebrities, and talked with the comedians about the show and their next performance. It was a great way to kick off the Super Bowl weekend.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Rashad Jennings Foundation, which strives to inspire youth by making education fun, providing mentorship for individual success, and promoting health and fitness worldwide.
“We were able to not only help the great cause of the Rashad Jennings Foundation but also launch an incredible brand we feel will live on for years to come,” adds Gavin. “A big thank you to our brand partners NOS Energy and Holr Media Group, who supported our vision every step of the way; and a special thanks to Mattel and Uno for presenting our After Party and Celebrity Game Night. The success of this night has us eager and excited to start planning for next year’s event in Miami.”
