“The Takeover” continues this weekend in Friscoe, Texas as Teofimo Lopez is set to fight southpaw Diego Magdaleno.  The scheduled 10 round bout will open the ESPN+ main card before the Sergey Kovalev-Eleider Alvarez light heavyweight world title rematch will surely be another exciting fight from Lopez.  Lopez (11-0, 9KO’s) is best known for his last KO win over Mason Menard where immediately after the KO, he performed his signature Fortnite dance and flip and later donned a Kyler Murray Oklahoma jersey while reenacting  the Heisman pose.

Lopez has plans on someday challenging the highly regarded pound-for-pound champ Vasiliy Lomachenko.  In order to do that he will need experience versus lefties.  That is one of the motivating factors for him to fight former world title challenger Diego Magdaleno.  Magdaleno (31-2, 13 KO’s)  has won three fights in a row and has plans for a fourth.  Although he is not a big puncher, Magdaleno is very experienced and is a bigger step up in class for Lopez.

Teofimo has been promising “The Takeover” for the past year and to this date he has backed up his bravado with devastating knockouts and athletic backflips.  Lopez versus Magdaleno is sure to not disappoint.

This sounds like it might be the fight of the night, but if not definitely sounds like it going to be a great fight.
