NFL head coaches generally play their starters the most in Week 3 of the preseason, so Thursday night’s Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles matchup should somewhat replicate a regular-season game for at least the first half.
The Dolphins are sitting at 1-1 in the preseason so far, recording a 23-20 victory over the Falcons in the opener and a 31-7 loss to the Ravens in Week 2. Running back Senorise Perry was the most notable performer in that Baltimore game, as he rushed six times for 25 yards and a TD.
Over on the Eagles’ side, they’re also 1-1 in the preseason so far. Philadelphia lost the opener against the Packers 24-9, then edged out the Bills in Week 2 with a 20-16 victory. Running back Corey Clement notched eight carries for 34 yards and a score in that one, while QB Matt McGloin managed 131 yards and a pick.
