LAS VEGAS (May 26, 2018) —The Rainiers defeated the 51s, 11-5, in game two of the brief five-game homestand before a 51s Camouflage Cap Night crowd of 5,722 at Cashman Field.
The Las Vegas 51s invited the Aces’ No. 1 overall draft pick (A’ja Wilson and her family) to the game, and she threw the first pitch, based on the video I saw, she can throw it better than 50 Cent the rap artist.
Tacoma broke the 3-3 tie with three runs in the sixth inning and then scored five runs over the final two-at bats.
Catcher Chris Herrmann was 3-for-4, walk, solo homer, three runs scored and first baseman Mike Marjama was 3-for-5, triple, HR, 2 RBI, two runs scored.
51s right-hander Cody Martin suffered the loss. He pitched 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, 6 runs, walked 3 and struck out 3.
51s second baseman Christian Colon was 2-for-4, double, triple, RBI, two runs scored and center fielder Matt den Dekker was 2-for-5, double, run scored.
