NFL Wildcard Weekend: Chiefs, Rams, & Bills.January 5, 2018
The 2018 NFL Playoffs are here. The 2017 NFL season blitzed past us faster than anyone could imagine and it really hasn’t settled in just how shocking this particular playoff field is.
Atlanta Falcons at L.A. Rams
7:15 p.m. Saturday
The Rams were so desperate to avoid the Vikings that they benched all of their stars and dumped last Sunday’s game against the 49ers. But they wound up the NFC’s No 3 seed anyway. We’ve got a hunch that the defending NFC champs will make certain that Sean McVay’s team doesn’t have to worry about traveling from balmy Los Angeles to frigid Minnesota next week.
Atlanta Faclons at L.A. Rams -6.5
Pick: L.A. Rams by 3
Buffalo Bills at Jacksonville Jaguars
12:05 p.m. Sunday
The suddenly watchable Jaguars have removed the tarps and opened up more than 3,500 seats for their fourth-ever playoff game at the Stadium Formerly Known as the Gator Bowl. While Jacksonville’s offense is a Blake Bortles-led mediocrity, that won’t matter if one of the people sitting Sunday is LeSean McCoy, stewing with his injured ankle on the Buffalo bench.
Bills at Jaguars (-8):
Pick: Jaguars by 3
Tennessee Titans at K.C. Chiefs
3:20 p.m. Saturday
Saturday’s playoff opener is widely expected to be Jon Gruden’s last game with ESPN before beginning his Act II as the Oakland Raiders’ coach. This will be perfect preparation for Coach Chucky because, over the next few years, he’s going to have plenty more opportunities to watch the Chiefs win big in Kansas City.
Titans at Chiefs (-8½):
Pick: Chiefs by 11
