Las Vegas, NV- Fans of the Sweet Science, and Tyson Fury received some bittersweet news on Monday as it was announced that Fury’s current promoter Frank Warren and his Queensberry Promotions have decided to enter into a multi-fight co-promotional agreement with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Boxing and ESPN. While not all terms of the deal which was announced on Monday were disclosed; many rightfully wondered what this announcement means for the prospects of the much-talked about rematch between the undefeated 30 year-old Fury (27-0-1) and current undefeated WBC Heavyweight Champ Deontay Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KO). Fight fans and even casual fans of the sport have been clamoring for the two heavy-handed titans to run it back ever since their first title fight ended in a controversial draw. Serious fight fans will also be painfully aware of the fact that this could throw that into uncertainty as Wilder is currently signed with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions promotional outfit, which broadcasts fights exclusively on FOX and SHOWTIME. Despite these difficulties, it is this scribe’s firm belief that the very intelligent folks at Top Rank, including de facto COO Todd DuBoeuf will find a way to make this fight, considering that it is quite literally the biggest fight to be made in boxing, barring none.
