Warriors’ investor suffers one year ban for pushing Kyle Lowry

Los Angeles– The Warriors investigated the fan who pushed Kyle Lowry as he was trying to gather himself after attempting to grab a loose ball out of bounds in game three of the NBA Finals. The fan turned out to be Mark Stevens, who is the part owner of the Golden State Warriors.

Lowry composed himself but was very upset at Stevens who pushed him, as well as used expletive words when Lowry reacted after the push. “He had no reason to touch me. He had no reason to reach over two seats and then say some vulgar language to me. There’s no place for people like that in our league. Hopefully, he never comes back to an NBA game.”

The NBA, as well as Golden State,  made it known that they will not tolerate that type of conduct. Stevens has been banned from attending any games, suspended from any activities with Golden State, and has been fined $500,000. The Warriors released a statement about the incident.

“Mr. Stevens’ behavior last night did not reflect the high standards that we hope to exemplify as an organization,” the Warriors said in a statement on Thursday. “We’re extremely disappointed in his actions and, along with Mr. Stevens, offer our sincere apology to Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors organization for this unfortunate misconduct. There is no place for such interaction between fans, players, or anyone else at an NBA game.”
