ESPN announced they will be opening a studio on the Las Vegas strip in the near future. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that in 2020 ESPN will have a new studio inside the Linq hotel and casino.
The studio will have the ability to place bets for betting wagers, as well as a studio for their digital shows. ESPN partnering with Caesars Entertainment for the new studio gives Las Vegas a new spot to broadcast their local and national sports coverage. ESPN, most notably has two main offices centered in Bristol, Connecticut and Las Angeles, California. It’s there, where they do the majority of their television and radio work.

“The sports betting landscape has changed, and fans are coming to us for this kind of information more than ever before,” said in statement release by Mike Morrison, VP of Business Development at ESPN. “We are poised to expand our coverage in a big way and working with a category leader like Caesars Entertainment will help us serve these highly engaged, diverse sports fans with the best and most relevant content possible.”
The move to Las Vegas by ESPN makes a ton of sense. With the early success of the Golden Knights and the city waiting on the arrival of the Raiders, it was just a matter of time before they open up a studio in the city. Las Vegas is also the host of the annual NBA summer league, and will host the upcoming NFL draft in 2020.
More than two-thirds of avid sports bettors already watch ESPN, according to Langer Research Associates. With that being said, ESPN hopes that their regular viewers of the network will choose them for their source of betting. ESPN’s betting show ‘The Daily Wager’ may help generate traffic through ESPN’s new studio.
Caesars Entertainment has been busy of late, as they announced in November that they are the first founding partner of the Las Vegas Stadium, the future home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
