Game Preview: Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders

The Buffalo Bills will be looking to remain one of the NFL’s undefeated teams when it faces Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon. The Bills are coming off a win against Los Angeles, while the Raiders lost to New England last week.

Buffalo nearly had a disastrous outcome in its game against Los Angeles last week. The Bills jumped out to a 28-3 lead early in the third quarter. However, the Rams came roaring back with four consecutive touchdowns.

The final one came with 4:30 left in the game, giving them a 32-28 lead. Buffalo answered in the final seconds when Josh Allen completed a three-yard pass to Tyler Kroft to give the Bills the win. They have now won its first three games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1991-92. It is just the third time Buffalo has done that in its franchise history.

Allen completed 24 of 33 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns. He also had one interception and a lost fumble, which allowed the Rams to mount their comeback. Allen carried the ball four times for eight yards and a touchdown. Second-year running back Devin Singletary rushed for 71 yards on 13 carries. T.J. Yeldon added three rushes for 18 yards. Wide receiver Cole Beasley caught a team-high six passes for 100 yards. Gabriel Davis added four receptions for 81 yards and Singletary had four catches for 50 yards out of the backfield. Stefon Diggs notched four grabs for 49 yards and a score. Tight end Tyler Kroft was a weapon in the red zone, catching two touchdown passes.

Las Vegas got off to a good start against New England, but it was unable to carry the fight into the second half. The Raiders scored on a one-yard touchdown pass from Derek Carr to Foster Moreau with six seconds left in the first half, which made it a 13-10 score at the break.

New England came out as the better team in the third quarter, tacking on 10 unsanswered points to stretch its lead to 13 at the end of the quarter. Las Vegas kicked a field goal early in the fourth quarter, but a pair of New England touchdowns salted the game away.

Carr completed 24 of his 32 attempts through the air, notching 261 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Josh Jacobs had a solid day, carrying the ball 16 times for 71 yards. Devontae Booker added three runs for 31 yards. Wide receiver Hunter Renfroe was Carr’s top target in the passing game, catching six balls for 84 yards and a score. Bryan Edwards added two receptions for 48 yards and Nelson Agholor had two for 32 yards. Carr lost two fumbles and Jacobs lost another, which hurt the Raiders’ chances of staying competitive. Linebacker Nicholas Morrow led the defensive effort with nine tackles, including seven solo tackles.
