Arizona Hotshots to face San Diego Fleet on Sunday, March 24th at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ on CBS Sports Network 1:00 PM local time.
After flying out of the gates and swinging fast, the Arizona Hotshots got off to an impressive 2-0 start to their season. But before fans could scream champions, Arizona faltered into a pit and lost three games in a row. The Hotshots kept their hopes alive, as they edged the league’s best team in their week 6 contest against the Orlando Apollos 22-17. Arizona will have to push for another win on Sunday, March 24th against in-conference rival San Diego in which they are tied (record wise) with the Hotshots sitting at 3-3. If Arizona can pull off a win, that’ll surely be enough for the Hotshots to secure a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Playoff implications lay in place for Arizona, as they were ranked the top team in the preseason polls before the start of the season. Coach Neuheisel and his staff have to get their players ready and stay focused down the stretch for the next few weeks to qualify and be prepared for their opponents. Arizona’s next two games are crucial for their success as they face San Diego this week and San Antonio next week. They can not lose both of these games, because playoff implications are on the line.
