UNLV Athletics announced Wednesday that The Raider Image will serve as the Rebels’ new official merchandise vendor, earning the bid after a competitive process.
The Raider Image, which is the official merchandising arm of the Las Vegas Raiders, will replace Barnes & Noble as UNLV’s official merchandise vendor.
“Our fans have communicated to us a strong desire for additional UNLV options in the merchandise space,” said UNLV Director of Athletics Desiree Reed-Francois. “As we went out to bid, it was important to make sure that our fan base’s needs were met. The UNLV brand is a big part of the Las Vegas sports community and we are enthused to partner with The Raider Image who will take our merchandise to a whole new level.”
Activity will scale quickly with initial activation targeted for this season’s final two UNLV football home games at Allegiant Stadium as well as at men’s and women’s basketball games, with gear to be available at both the Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion.
The Raiders have long been one of the top grossing merchandise brands in the NFL with success coming through an omni-channel engagement model and robust e-commerce services.
“Our donors and fans have been very clear with us about access to high-quality Rebel gear and this is our answer to that call,” said UNLV Senior Associate Athletics Director John Gladchuk. “We are excited to team with an elite partner in The Raider Image to remake our merchandise program and to place our brand back at the forefront of our incredible community.”
To meet modern consumer expectations, an innovative, dynamic e-commerce platform will also be developed by The Raider Image for UNLV Athletics.
The Rebel football team will play its second game at Allegiant Stadium this Saturday, November 7, against Fresno State at 12:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network.
