On paper, UFC Vegas 2 didn’t look like a fight card that fans could get excited about, but in the end it delivered a flurry of first round finishes and exciting bouts throughout the night.
UFC Vegas 2 marked the second mixed martial arts fight card to be held at the Apex in Las Vegas during the winding down stages of a national closure thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
And while many fans may have initially slept on this line-up, the MMA gods wasted no time delivering action to the faithful.
Christian Aguilera, Tyson Nam and Julia Avila kicked off the night with three straight first round knockouts, all of them in under a minute. I’m not completely positive, but that’s got to be some kind of record for the UFC.
DON'T BLINK! 😳@TysonNam wastes no time in Las Vegas!

Aguilera (14-6) dispatched Anthony Ivy (8-3) by TKO in 59 seconds. Nam (19-11-1) ended a two-fight skid in brutal fashion by stopping Zarrukh Adashev (3-2) with a devastating right hand in 32 seconds.
Not to be outdone by the guys, “The Raging Panda” Julia Avila (8-1) touched up Gina Mazany (6-4) in 22 seconds to officially move from prospect to contender in the women’s bantamweight division.
In the night’s main event, the number 1 ranked women’s flyweight, Jessica “Evil” Eye, faced off against number 10 ranked Cynthia Calvillo. Eye (15-7) came into their matchup 4-1 in her last five fights, the lone blemish being a head kick knockout courtesy of champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Eye also missed weight for the second straight fight since that headkick, coming in at 126.25 pounds.
Again, this was a night where looks were often deceiving as the number 10 ranked fighter looked incredibly comfortable and picked apart “Evil” earning an unanimous decision that will no doubt move her into the title picture later this year. The fight itself delivered plenty of action as both fighters pressed the action, with Calvillo announcing herself as a force in the division.

The co-main event saw Marvin Vettori defeat Karl Roberson, who missed weight for this fight, via nasty submission to run his record to 15-4-1 while dropping Roberson to 9-3 overall.
