LAS VEGAS, NEVADA: The UNLV Runnin Rebels Picked up their second win of the season by defeating Abilene Christian University by the final score of 72–58. UNLV was led by Junior guard, Amauri Hardy. Hardy had a near perfect game going 9-10 from the field. 3-4 from 3 point range. Finishing with a game and team high 25 points. The one concern continues to be the struggles of junior guard, transfer Jonah Antonio, who continues to struggle from the field especially the three-point line. Tonight again going 1-7. Not a good look, at all if you ask me. After scoring 17 points in his first game as a Rebel. He has now only scored 17 Total combined points in his last 4 games. Let’s hope he can figure out his shooting woes soon. T.J. said he’s a spot shooter. But the question remains. When will he find his spot? The one big concern still continues to be, the crowd. The toughest part is the fact that the student section can’t even fill up two rows when they get free tickets, not only that from what I am being told if they want to take a friend it’s only $5 for an extra ticket. But don’t quote me on that price. Look I get it, so far they have a losing record and they really have not done much. But give them time, come out and support, show these kids the type of support, that we all know Las Vegas can give. T.J. is in his first year and he and these kids and that coaching staff need all the support they can get. Tickets are pretty inexpensive, and the games are actually pretty fun and enjoyable this season. So come out, and show out. Next up for the Runnin Rebels is a home game on Wednesday night at Thomas and Mack against a (3-2) Texas State team. The Runnin Rebels (2-3) are looking to get back to .500 on this young season. 7 pm tip off. Where will you be?
